YWCA Cass Clay is currently recruiting a Full-Time Supportive Housing Manager to lead and support an effective team that delivers high-quality and consistent services to YWCA participants.

Job Duties:

Leadership

  • Provide leadership, direction, support, coaching, and supervision to the Supportive Housing Team.
  • Ensure employee development, competence, and knowledge in their respective areas, including best practices, trends, and innovations.
  • Appropriately handle crisis situations and train/prepare staff as necessary.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of YWCA Supportive Housing programs.
  • Maintain Supportive Housing Program documents and effectively communicate changes to staff
  • Ensure the creation of monthly staffing schedules for all respective programs.

Client Service Delivery

  • Appropriately train and develop Supportive Housing Staff to adhere to the mission of YWCA while providing client-centered services.
  • Maintain dignity, respect, and confidentiality of all YWCA participants
  • Develop an understanding of YWCA participant safety needs, factoring all known considerations into safe and effective service delivery.
  • Work closely with Advocates to ensure participant concerns are resolved in a timely manner.

Safety & Security/Building Management

  • Maintain the safety and security of the Housing facilities aiding in the development of safe operating procedures and ensuring proper operation of security systems.
  • Work with Supportive Housing Director to ensure that policies and procedures for all programs are developed, updated, and enforced.
  • Appropriately handle crisis situations and train/prepare staff for circumstances including, but not limited to, emergency evacuation, intruders, etc.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with law enforcement.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the importance of safety and security of YWCA facilities and participants.
  • Provide oversight for safety, security, and maintenance needs for YWCA Supportive Housing facilities.
  • Ensure building manuals are utilized and updated as needed.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Property Manager, Supportive Housing Director, and Housing Advocates.

Grant Monitoring/Implementation

  • Aid in communication with government and foundation funders, participate in site visits and audits and assist with program reports to funders.
  • Provide ongoing training and guidance to Supportive Housing team members to develop an understanding of grant agreements.
  • Implement systems of data collection and processes for capturing accurate data to calculate statistics to complete program reporting and outcome measurements.

Other Job Duties

  • Represent YWCA at community events and serve on committees on behalf of the organization.
  • Maintain sensitivity to cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of populations served.
  • Accept and organize donations as needed.
  • Assume duties required of the Supportive Housing Director as needed.
  • Oversee purchasing of supplies as needed and appropriate documentation to support the expenditures.
  • Prompt and reliable attendance is required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • An understanding of, appreciation for, and support of the mission of the YWCA Cass Clay; eliminating racism and empowering women.

Qualifications:

  • Female (BFOQ)
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, sociology, criminal justice, human development and family or other closely related field or equivalent education/experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in Human Services and/or related field preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of community resources.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain appropriate auto insurance. Must be able to travel off-site as needed.
  • Meets all background check requirements.

Requirements:

These physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential job functions of this position. While performing the responsibilities for this position, the employee is required to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, bend, push, carry and drive frequently. The employee will also be required to twist at waist, squat, kneel, stoop, crouch and reach overhead occasionally. Standing in place and sitting at desk for prolonged periods of time are performed occasionally. Repetitive keying, data entry, wrist motion, and reaching above shoulders are performed frequently. Lifting up to 40 lbs. from shoulder to overhead is occasional, carrying and pulling up to 75 lbs. is performed frequently and pushing up to 75 lbs. is performed frequently.
