YWCA Cass Clay is currently seeking a Food Services Coordinator to prepare and serve meals for Children’s Services and the Emergency Shelter. This position manages product ordering, storing, and volunteer engagement related to food services. The Food Services Coordinator ensures proper food handling practices and maintains safe and sanitary conditions of the facilities and equipment. This part time position would work 25-27 hours each week. Primary hours would be Monday - Friday, 10:30am - 3:30pm.

Job Duties:

• Meal planning and preparation of meals (Monday-Friday) in accordance with approved Child Care and Adult Care food program guidelines.
• Plan and post monthly menus for breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack for Children’s Services, and evening meals for Emergency Shelter participants.
• Coordinate with Children’s Services Manager to maintain compliance with reimbursement requests and food program guidelines.
• Keep production records for all meals served.
• Monitor the purchasing and ordering of food and supplies for Children’s Services and Emergency Shelter.
• Maintain quality standards, food safety, and sanitation following program guidelines and requirements.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment; all cooking surfaces are wiped down, food is properly labeled and stored, and cooking and dish utensils are washed and sanitized. This includes, but is not limited to freezers, refrigerators, stoves, ovens, sanitizer, and other kitchen equipment.
• Oversee community volunteer groups during food service projects.
• Integrate food donations into meal service as appropriate.
• Unload and organize ordered food products weekly.
• Service as liaison for Fill the Dome and the Homeless and Hungry initiatives.
• Prepare food and beverages for agency meetings, and/or events as necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
• One year related food experience preferably in a child care setting or equivalent education.
• Food Manager Certification of Serv Save (or willing to obtain during employment)
• CPR and First Aid Certification (or willing to obtain during employment)
• Valid driver’s license with proof of current insurance.
• Meets all background check requirements.
• Prompt and reliable attendance is required.

Requirements:
These physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential job functions of this position. While performing the responsibilities for this position, the employee is required to sit, climb stairs, climb, kneel, stoop, crouch, and reach overhead occasionally. The employee will also be required to drive occasionally. Static motions such as sitting at a desk along with repetitive motions such as keying, data entry, and reaching above shoulders are performed occasionally. The employee is required to twist at the waist, bend, push, carry, squat, and stand in place frequently. Repetitive motions such as wrist motion and reaching above the shoulders will be performed frequently. Standing and walking will be continuous motions. This employee will be required to lift 40 lbs. from shoulders to overhead occasionally, carry up to 75 lbs. frequently, and push/pull over 75 lbs. frequently.
